Bienvenidos a Yakima!
TYCA-Pacific Northwest invites you to its annual conference at Yakima Valley Community College on October 21 – 22, 2005. Yakima is a city of approximately 70,000 located in arid and agricultural Central Washington. By the time you arrive in October, harvest of two of Yakima’s most well-known crops—apples and grapes—will be complete, and we hope you’ll take some time to enjoy the fruits of our harvest, either by visiting the Farmer’s Market (on Sundays in downtown Yakima) or by visiting some of the many wineries located in our valley along I-82 between Prosser and Yakima. In addition to agriculture, Yakima is well known for its 300+ days of sunshine. We recommend these restaurant and entertainment options. From I-82, take Exit 34 (Nob Hill Blvd./Moxee). Head west on Nob Hill Blvd. Pass through four stop lights (Fairgrounds, 1st St., 3rd Ave., 10th Ave.). Turn right on 12th Avenue to park. For further directions, we recommend you use Mapquest with the address below.

Hotel Reservations
Out-of-towners may stay at the Clarion Hotel in Yakima, 1507 North First St. (509) 248-7850. We encourage you to stay both Friday and Saturday nights to take advantage of the local color and flavor. Rates are $60 per night for either a double or a single occupancy, and a complementary hot-cooked breakfast is included in the price.
Please register by Oct. 10, 2005, to get the conference rate. We have 40 rooms reserved. The hotel will provide shuttle service both to and from campus, as well as from the airport, to the hotel, and back again.
