Program Chair

The Program Chair shall:

  • Research, develop and get TYCA-PNW Board approval for the theme
  • Develop a program proposal form to distribute at the conference
  • Chair a session at the annual confernece where members of the region can discuss ideas about the theme and possible sessions
  • Decide on what kind of support staff (Co-program chair, program coordinators, readers, etc.)
  • Research various possibilities for major speakers
  • Look  for particularly good programs at the current conference that are worth repeating or developing in a different direction
  • Work with the Local Arrangements Chair to coordinate publicity
  • Invite key people to the conference from throughout the region
  • Prepare the conference program and conference evaluation form
  • Write a post-conference evaluation report for the TYCA-PNW Board and send thank-yous to all major speakers and other key people
  • Follow the guidelines set by the Regional Conferences on English in the Two Year College:  A Manual by Paul Bodmer, 1992 revision.

Additionally, the Program Chair: 

  • Shall serve a one-year term.  
  • Shall hold no other office on the TYCA-PNW Board.
  • Shall be a member in good standing in TYCA-PNW and in TYCA/NCTE.
